Revolex undertook the refurbishment of a small architectural firm’s office at Shoot Lodge in Luton, focusing on enhancing the functionality and aesthetic appeal of the workspace. The project involved the relocation of essential facilities, including toilets and the kitchen, reconfiguring partition walls, and updating floor and wall finishes. The goal was to create a more valuable and spacious working environment within the constraints of a limited area, ensuring that the office was both practical and visually appealing.
The primary challenge of this renovation project was the need to maximise the available space while ensuring compliance with stringent building control regulations and fire safety strategies. It was crucial to design a layout that would provide ample work and meeting areas for all users while adhering to regulatory requirements. Additionally, the renovation needed to balance functionality with aesthetic appeal, creating a professional environment conducive to productivity.
To address these space constraints, Revolex employed a series of strategic design solutions aimed at maximising the office’s utility and enhancing its aesthetic appeal. One of the key solutions was the exposure of an existing brick wall, which added character and a sense of openness to the office. This was complemented by the installation of new glass doors, which not only improved the visual appeal but also created a perception of a larger, more open space. The relocation of the office’s facilities—such as the toilets and kitchen—into a single, more efficient area further freed up valuable workspace in the office rooms. These changes allowed for a more streamlined and functional office layout, enhancing the overall working environment.
